Mrs. Christine Anderson

About this Service

Chris moved to Exmoor from Herefordshire in 2017 where she worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist in a NHS rural Community Mental Health Centre and in Private Practice.

She has extensive experience of working with a variety of mental health problems. Her clinical areas of expertise include working with Depression, the Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic, Stress, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Eating Disorders and Chronic Pain.

Chris offers individual therapy to adults aged 18 – 90+ and adolescents aged 13 – 17. Appointments can be arranged in Taunton. Somerset on a Wednesday and Thursday and occasionally in Porlock. She tries to be flexible with appointment times.

Clients who wish to arrange an appointment are offered a free of charge short telephone conversation to see if CBT is the most suitable approach for them. If we then decide to go ahead an appointment will be arranged to carry out a face to face assessment which lasts up to 90 minutes. The purpose of this is to identify problems, consider treatment goals, provide an estimate of the number of sessions needed and to give both of us the opportunity to consider whether we wish to work together.

CBT treatment sessions last for 60 minutes, Therapy is usually short term. between 6 – 20 sessions.
